How the hell did I land a spot on Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami Season 2??? Well, I was in Miami over Superbowl weekend after one of the best weekends of my life. My mother was originally supposed to go with me but I knew I needed a partner in crime and mother was not my first choice (sorry Car but a midnight bedtime doesn’t work for me haha!!) There was no way she could hang all weekend – so I traded her in for my best friend, Maura. Who could have predicted that I would come back with a job and a reality TV contract?
Thankfully, my very good friend is best friends with The Black Eyed Peas and I was fortunate enough to have the chance to hang with the Black Eyed Peas all weekend – back stage at their show, tagged along to all of the parties, hung out with them at dinners etc. This 5-day event was so exhausting but It truly was one of the best weekends of my life!!!
I remember sitting at my sister’s apartment, the Monday after Superbowl , with my best friend and I received a phone call from Miami number I didn’t know. I picked up and it was a friend of my sister’s asking if I was still in Miami and if I could ‘swing by the Hilton Bentley’ to interview to be a Dash Doll. Mind you, I had just graduated from college in December and I was trying to figure out “life” soooooo I was beyond excited to go to my first interview and it was to be on national television!
That Tuesday in February, I was sick, weak and still hungover from Superbowl weekend and I remember it being so hot outside. I wore my navy blue YSL tributes with a cream skirt and a navy blue jacket. I waited in the lobby for about 45-minutes too sick to be nervous. As I got called up to one of the hotel rooms for the interview I walked in to the girls and a camera. Right then, I thought to myself ohhhh geeze what did I get myself into? We laughed through the whole interview, and I killed it! I still think it was because I was still hungover and I was too tired to be nervous. My mom didn’t really like that response when I told her.
Two weeks later and after plenty of other interviews I got a phone call Thursday, March 4th saying I got the job and I was to be in Miami Monday to start filming. Gee thanks E! for letting me get a little prepared for this. I live in Pittsburgh, in the middle of winter for that matter – I had no time to drop ten lbs, get a tan and at least look good to be on camera. Thank God for spray tans and the color black!!!
